The “Lucky Man Race” at Nishinomiya Shrine (Ebessan) is an annual Shinto ritual.
In 2021, it looks like the event will be held with fewer participants, and special masks will be handed out!

The event will apparently be held after reducing the number of people in the front group, which is decided by lottery each year, from 260 to 80.
Also, instead of lining up for the lottery, this year’s lottery will use application forms downloaded from the website or picked up at the shrine. Applications can be submitted by mail or brought to the shrine from November 15 to December 15, and the lottery will be held on December 17.

By the way, this is a bit of a side note, but I line up for the lottery every year too.
I’m currently on a six-year streak of not getting picked!! lol
Here’s hoping lots of “good fortune” comes to both me and all of you~^^✨
