(Update 4/9) It looks like she finished 3rd in the final held on the 7th Japan time! At one point she was just two strokes behind the leader, so she’s definitely someone to keep an eye on. Congratulations, Yuka Yasuda!

According to the linked article, Yuka Yasuda, the only Japanese player in the field, advanced to the final in 6th place, three strokes behind the leader.
It seems only the top 30 players can advance to the final, so finishing 6th means she’s really high up there. Amazing!
The final is scheduled for Saturday the 6th local time. It looks like it will be broadcast on BS-TBS from 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Sunday the 7th.

About Yuka Yasuda
Yasuda is currently 18 years old and apparently started playing golf at the age of 7. She is said to be from Kobe.
In third grade, she joined the Sakata Junior Golf School.
In 2017, she won the Japan Women’s Amateur Championship at age 16, and is reportedly ranked 15th in the world women’s amateur rankings.
Enrolled at Otemae University’s Sakura Shukugawa Campus
After graduating from high school in March 2019, she apparently entered the Faculty of Modern Social Studies at Otemae University in Shukugawa this April.
That’s right, until last month she was still a high school student, and this April she became a brand-new first-year student at Otemae University.

It seems there are many professional golfers in the women’s pro world who came from Sakata’s school.
