On January 9, I went to check out the scene at Toka Ebisu.
It’s been cold lately, but what was the flow of visitors like!?

As usual, traffic restrictions were in place around Ebisu Shrine.

Security guards were stationed here and there, and everything looked ready to welcome worshippers.

There were already lots of people at the Akamon gate (entrance)! (This was around 12 noon)

To avoid crowding, there were no stalls on either side.
Without anyone stopping, the flow of people moved smoothly along.

We were able to get this far smoothly without stopping.

In front of the main shrine hall, shops selling kumade rakes and other lucky items were lined up!
Looks like you could buy one without waiting in line!

So many festive Nishinomiya Ebisu kumade rakes!
Apparently the No. 1 favorite is the “Original Perfect Kumade”!(front of the photo)
It looks like an item that could bring in some incredible blessings! ✨

This year’s “giant tuna” was inside a transparent case, so visitors couldn’t stick coins onto it as an infection-prevention measure. With this frustration in our hearts, next year we’ll have to stick on twice as much!

Now this kind of “crowded” scene is a happy sight. (Ebisu-sama in the upper right looks delighted too♪ lol)

There was plenty of space, so it felt very easy to pay a visit^^
Lastly

I bought some lucky bamboo! May it bring good fortune!!
2021 has started off in rough waters too, but let’s all come together as Nishinomiya residents and get through this difficult time!
