Shukugawa Preschool is a nursery school located in Fukaya-cho.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find an official website.
The fees are quite high, but satisfaction seems to be high as well, so it appears to be well worth it.
After Googling around and looking into it, here’s a rough summary:
- Daily English lessons
- Hiragana, katakana, and abacus
- Strong support for elementary school entrance exams
- Lots of lessons and activities (swimming, soccer, piano, violin, ballet, swimming, extracurricular English)
- Field trips almost every week (cherry blossom viewing, autumn leaf viewing, sweet potato digging, acorn collecting, visits to nursing homes, nearby elementary schools, local festivals)
- Long childcare hours (from 7 a.m., with extended care available until as late as 9 p.m.)
- Security guards stationed on site
- Children can be cared for even if they have a fever from a cold or similar illness
- Tachikoshi education (keeping the lower back upright)
- School bus service available
- No parents’ association and the like, making it less burdensome for working mothers
