Ask your grandparents about it
Rokyoku is a traditional performing art in which stories are narrated with shamisen accompaniment.
It seems to have been incredibly popular around 1955, but its popularity apparently declined rapidly after that.
So for today’s grandparents around age 78, it may remain as a memory from their teenage years.
So if you tell them, “It looks like they’re doing rokyoku at Hirota Shrine,” or take them along, it might become a lifelong memory.

Finally
If you want to actively make your grandparents happy, bringing up old memories may be especially effective. Why not take this opportunity to talk with them about it?
As a side note,
This information about the rokyoku event actually came to us on Facebook from Masahiro Kono, a former mayor of Nishinomiya. It seems Mr. Kono launched the “Nishinomiya Rokyoku wo Tanoshimu Kai” three years ago and has been active with it ever since. It’s wonderful to see him continuing to help liven up Nishinomiya even after stepping down as mayor.
