Welcome to “This Week in Nishinomiya,” where we look back at opening and closing news in Nishinomiya, plus the topics that got people talking this week (8/19–8/25) on Nishi2 (Nishinomiya Tsushin)!
It looks like the same Sandaya as the one at Kwansei Gakuin, “Sandaya Honten,” is coming to Nishinomiya-kitaguchi. It’s scheduled to open next March.
Nishinomiya City also seems to be running the third round of its PayPay campaign!! The campaign period is in October.

News from Nishi2 Partners

Baycom

Kids Sports Club CUPS Nishinomiya-kitaguchi
At “Kids Sports Club CUPS,” a comprehensive sports and gymnastics school where children can learn sports based on the latest exercise theory, a wide range of lessons such as “trampoline” and “gymnastics” are offered so that children from 20 months old through junior high school can keep enjoying physical activity. If you’d like your child to grow to love exercise, or if you’re considering a new after-school activity, come try a CUPS lesson this summer and help bring out your child’s “That was fun!” and “I did it!” moments!

Science Class Science Lab
Science Lab’s curriculum helps children build “science knowledge and skills,” “expressive ability,” and “collaboration skills” through science experiments.
Curricula are available to match each school grade.
Children can also try a regular class, so they can get a feel for the class atmosphere.
If you want to study science, this summer is the perfect time to start!

Afterschool Kodomokan
If the home with parents is a child’s “first home,” and the grandparents’ home is their “second home,” Kodomokan hopes to be each child’s “third home.”
It is neither school nor their own home, but a place where they can relax with peace of mind. The interior is designed to be bright and warm.
Kodomokan connects school, lessons, home, and learning at UP, serving as an after-school platform that provides children with a safe, secure, and enriching after-school experience.

Something That Changed on Nishi2 This Week
There was one thing this week.
A Rainy Week
There were a lot of sudden, guerrilla-style downpours this week. Since they were mostly in the evening, you could probably call them evening showers.
There were days when thunder rumbled a lot, and times when it poured heavily only in Naruo. It really was a rainy week.
Even as I’m writing this, thunder is rumbling, so this kind of weather may continue for a while.
So, if we keep finding interesting stories around Nishinomiya, we’ll keep turning them into articles! We’d love to keep receiving tips from everyone through our information submission form,
