Nishinomiya Tsushin changing to “Nishinomiya Tsushin” written entirely in hiragana.
When you heard that, you probably thought, “Well, if it’s just the title, I guess that can’t be helped.”
But then you may have thought, “No way, the entire articles are being ‘hiragana-fied’? That’s awful!I’m breaking up with you!”
We’re sorry
It was an April Fools’ prank.
By the way, Nishinomiya Tsushin does something every year on April 1 for April Fools’ Day.
- 瞬間で見抜いた40%(68票)
- へぇ〜ってなったけど、少し考えて見抜いた11.2%(19票)
- 完璧に騙されました48.8%(83票)
Incidentally, last year, the percentage of people who were completely fooled by “Nomitsu” was 32%. That’s actually quite a lot.
What we did for April Fools’ Day 2024
This time, aside from the articles, things were fairly simple.
- Changed the title logo

- Published an announcement article
- Converted articles into hiragana
- Changed some text on the homepage

- Changed the name and description on X

Today as well, we received heartfelt messages from readers who love Nishinomiya Tsushin, such as “How about adding furigana to the kanji?” and “Please, even just adding simple kanji and katakana would help, so I really hope you can do something.”
Every year, we truly feel bad about it, but please forgive the sinful “Nishinomiya Tsushin” for doing these kinds of jokes.
All of us at Nishitsu will continue sharing information with care, hoping to add even a little color to your everyday lives.
Shachomi @ Nishitsu
