On Thursday, January 16, a new parenting play space opened in Nishinomiya〜☺️

It’s called “Kosodate Hiroba Nijiiro”〜
Here it is on the map↓
4-5 Shinkoyochō, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture

Head inside Co-op〜
It’s located inside the members’ meeting room on the 2nd floor of Co-op Koyoen.
Free parking is a nice bonus🅿️🚗
One concern the staff had was: “In the Koyoen area, there aren’t many children’s centers or parenting play spaces where parents and children can casually drop by.”

They apparently opened it with the hope that it would be a fun place for small children, and also a place where moms and dads can connect with other families raising children in the same area.

It’s for ages 0 to 3, and inside there’s a spacious mat area with lots of toys🧸

There were building blocks, wooden toys, blocks, pretend-play sets, Anpanman toys, picture books, and more!
It seems the toys and other items were collected through donations, and they plan to add more going forward☺️
There’s picture book reading📚 and hand-play time too👐
There was also a craft corner〜

This month’s theme is snowmen⛄️

Using stickers and colored pencils, kids can take home cute creations that only children can make💕

Use is free. On your first visit, please make a user card at reception📝

They also had copies of Nishinomiya Parenting Magazine tomoni available〜🙌
The upcoming schedule is Thursday, February 13; Thursday, March 13; and from April onward, it will be held on the 1st through 4th Thursdays of each month!!
Starting at 10:00 on Thursday, February 6, separate from the parenting play space, there will also be a miso soup-making experience〜😋
If you’re interested, try contacting them by email or DM on Instagram!
Right outside the room where the parenting play space is held, there’s also a little play equipment area〜🛝

This play equipment is still in use! When I was little, my grandmother lived nearby, so I have lots of memories of playing here☺️

It’s also nice that you can shop at Co-op on your way home🛒

I’m raising two sons, ages 6 and 4, and when they were younger and not yet in preschool, I used to push the stroller, put them on the bicycle, and visit all kinds of children’s centers and parenting play spaces.

The parent-child pairs we became close with there are still family friends today😊

That’s why places like this are truly precious and something to be grateful for. When you visit, there are other parents raising children of the same age, and you can share the tough parts of parenting and celebrate your children’s growth together. It’s such a wonderful space✨

I also love that veteran local parents warmly dote on the kids, creating a cozy space for people of all ages🥰It would be great if more places like this opened in Nishinomiya, making the city even easier for families raising children❤️
I also introduce what the play space is like on my Instagram, so please take a look〜😊
