A series introducing vending machines in Nishinomiya that make you do a double take: “Nishinomiya Vending Machines”
This vending machine is in Takamatsu-cho, right in front of Mitsui Repark near Gardens.
Here’s the first one↓

It’s a vending machine selling “Dashi Doraku” soup stock.
There are two kinds. The one on top is “agodashi” (flying fish broth), and the one below is “Sodabushi dashi” (frigate tuna flake broth).
The red Sodabushi dashi has a look that you might briefly mistake for cola.
Both are 700 yen for 500 ml.

Since it’s diluted 7 to 8 times, that works out to about 3.5 to 4 liters in total.

Price per Liter
A 750 ml bottle of “Higashimaru” mentsuyu noodle soup base, concentrated 4 times, costs around 346 yen.
By comparison, “Dashi Doraku” dashi is 500 ml, concentrated 8 times, and costs 700 yen.
I calculated the price per liter.
| Dashi Doraku dashi | 175 yen |
| Higashimaru noodle soup base | 115 yen |
Dashi Doraku is about 1.5 times more expensive.

It Turned Out to Be Dashi Soy Sauce from “Dashi Doraku,” an Udon Shop in Hiroshima Prefecture
It seems to be a well-regarded shop in Hiroshima.
If you’re making udon, this is definitely something you’d want to try.
