A new shop called “CARIBBEAN JERK(カリビアン ジャーク),” a collaboration between a Jamaican restaurant and an olive shop, has opened in Matsuzonocho along the Yamate Kansen road.

Here it is on the map↓

Around Caribbean Jerk

If you go this way, you’ll find the planned site of the new commercial facility in Otanicho that we previously reported on, heading toward Ashiya.

If you go in the opposite direction, right next door you’ll find baby castella shop 八竹堂, スタジオヌーブ, Catholic Shukugawa Church, JTRRD cafe, ダチェンチノ, and more, heading toward Shukugawa Station.
Since it serves Jamaican soul food made by a Jamaican chef, it seems like the kind of place that offers Jamaica’s version of comforting home cooking.
Here’s what the easy takeout menu looks like.

These colors make me think of Usain Bolt. Somehow it feels like it might make you run faster.
We got to see a few of the dishes too!
Jerk pork and jerk chicken marinated in herbs for several days↓

They smelled amazing.

This is the kind of food that makes you want a drink.
Rice & peas↓
It’s kind of like sekihan in Japan. There was a lot of nice steam coming off it, and this smelled great too.
They also have various drinks, including alcohol↓

The owner who previously ran Meat Meat Meat here is now operating this place as an olive shop in collaboration with the Jamaican restaurant.

Finally
Jamaican food still feels pretty rare, doesn’t it? They apparently don’t have set closing days at the moment, but they are open on Saturdays and Sundays, so if you’re curious, why not try grabbing some takeout?
