On 2/13 (Sat) and 2/14 (Sun), the Nishinomiya Storks won both of their B2 League games against Saga at the Takarazuka City Sports Center, extending their winning streak to nine games.
Quoted from Kobe Shimbun NEXT | Sports | Basketball B2 Nishinomiya matches winning-streak record with 9 straight wins
Saga had been in first place in this league, so winning two straight against them is pretty amazing.
As of now (2/15), the Storks’ standings in the B2 West District look like this:
| Rank | Team | Record |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Nishinomiya | 24 wins, 15 losses |
| 2 | FE Nagoya | 21 wins, 16 losses |
| 3 | Saga | 22 wins, 17 losses |
| 4 | Kumamoto | 20 wins, 19 losses |
| 5 | Fukuoka | 17 wins, 21 losses |
| 6 | Kagawa | 17 wins, 22 losses |
| 7 | Nara | 14 wins, 23 years old |
| 8 | Ehime | 14 wins, 24 losses |
We hope they keep winning like this. They’re holding their own as “Nishinomiya” among teams named after prefectures, too.
By the way, here at Nishitsu, basketball got a lot of votes in our “What sports do you like?” survey results.
There won’t be any home games for a while, but they have games at Nishinomiya City Central Gymnasium on March 20 and 21.
Hopefully the winning streak will still be going by then.
