What we did for April Fools’ Day 2020
We changed quite a few things.
To sum it up:
- Posted an announcement article about Nishitsu going global
- Posted all April 1 articles in English
- Changed the logo
- Changed the category names at the top of the site into English
- Changed the information submission banner into English
- Changed the information submission page
I’m sure some of you panicked or felt a sense of despair when you saw the articles. After all, everything was in English!!
We used Google Translate to translate the articles into English. I only found out today about DeepL, which apparently gives really accurate translations, and now I regret it. It translates so naturally!! Give it a try.
If you can read English, you might have thought, “That English is weird.” But we’ll gracefully ignore any corrections.
Here’s a memorial list of everything we changed this time.

It looks kind of stylish, doesn’t it? I’m sure a fair number of people thought, “Honestly, just the logo could stay like this.”

Once you put the image in English, it suddenly looks like an overseas website. We only changed it on the PC version. We just forgot to change the smartphone version.

And then, incredibly, one of our readers who often sends us information actually submitted a tip in English.

This is just my guess, but I think they realized it was an April Fools’ joke and still sent it in English. Right? Thank you so much!!
