The just-released November 2 issue of “Winter Pia Kansai Edition” features a special article on “GPS running” set in Nishinomiya!
There are tons of shots of the Mukogawa riverbed and the area north of Koshien!
Here it is ↓
This issue of Winter Pia is packed with great sections, including “Winter Fun You Can Enjoy on a Day Trip,” “Great-Value Hot Spring Trips with Go To Travel,” and “A Thorough Look at the Latest Illuminations.”
And among them, here’s the article featuring our very own Nishinomiya as the setting ↓
It’s a two-page spread in the section “The Winter Pia Fun-Seeking Squad Goes!”
They take on “GPS running,” where you walk or run a route to draw pictures or letters on your smartphone, kind of like the Nazca Lines.
Nishitsu has featured it a few times before too. It’s “a new sport that trains not only your body, but also your imagination and sense of direction.” The piece “In Memory of Ken Shimura” is one of the representative works drawn in Nishinomiya.

《Past Article》Apparently “Ken Shimura” appeared in Nishinomiya
The hand doing the “Aiin” pose was drawn by running along Koshien-suji.

It’s a sport that uses maps… but somehow everyone has no sense of direction!
The Pia staff actually came to Nishinomiya and had a great time running all over the place. lol

This is what it looked like when they were practicing on the Mukogawa riverbed.
The staff were full of motivation! lol

“It’s easier than I thought!” “I did it!” “It’s great exercise for both your mind and body!” The staff really seemed to enjoy walking around Nishinomiya! For the detailed filming locations and more, be sure to check out “Winter Pia Kansai Edition”♪You might spot lots of places you know! ✨
