On August 31, Nishinomiya Storks donated basketballs to eight Hyogo Prefectural schools in Nishinomiya City.

They held a basketball donation ceremony.
Here it is↓

Hyogo Governor Saito and students from Hyogo Prefectural Nishinomiya Kita High School.

Habatan, Hyogo Prefecture’s mascot character, was there too.

On this day, Nishinomiya Storks signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Hyogo Prefecture, aimed at promoting the recovery of sports in Hyogo, tourism, and PR across Japan.
It means a local government and private companies team up to solve various kinds of issues.
As part of that, they carried out a “project to donate basketballs and other items to schools.” Apparently the basketballs at the prefectural high schools were pretty old, so this was like giving them shiny new ones.

These basketballs are from Dai-ichi Life, one of Nishinomiya Storks’ partner companies. The logo is printed on them too.

A preseason game was also held that day, and Nishinomiya Storks beat Osaka Evessa. Their home opener seems to be from October 8, when they’ll face Kumamoto, their heated rival from last season.

A Habatan mask. Very much a sign of the times.

Here’s hoping someone from Nishinomiya becomes a world-class professional basketball player!! Go for it!!!
