Western-style restaurant “Grill Ippei” Nishinomiya is serving a lunch menu that’s kind of like a Western-style tenzaru soba.
Here it is↓

A summery limited-time weekday lunch menu has started, with only 10 servings available per day.
Here’s the location on the map↓
The address is 1-8 Imazaikecho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo.
Homemade chicken ham and cha soba salad, served with one fried shrimp
A summery dish with red cabbage, carrot râpé, and plenty of salad.
This year’s heat has been seriously intense, so you want something cold! But you also want fried shrimp! This set makes that selfish little wish come true.
The soba is nicely chilled too, and on a hot day like this, it just keeps going down so easily. Apparently, this was something they used to eat as staff meal at Grill Ippei. No wonder it’s so satisfying
When you come to Grill Ippei, the fried shrimp is an absolute must. The balance is just right.
This is the “Chilled pumpkin soup 500 yen.” Even the plate is served nice and cold.
This menu item gets a ton of orders! Apparently, the next soup is planned to be peach soup. It’s peach, but they say it turns into a proper soup🍑 I’m curious.

Watermelon soup is also planned, and since it includes potatoes, it sounds like it’ll have a proper soup texture. I want to try both the peach and watermelon, but only one kind will be available at a time, so keep that in mind.
Final thoughts
In the hot summer, you want to keep things light, but when you go to Grill Ippei, you might also feel like digging into some hearty fried food. If two of you go, sharing the mixed lunch and the cha soba seems like it would be just the right amount.
