A town famous for octopus
I gave a talk in Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture!
Since I had some time before it started, I checked Google Maps to explore the town…
Northwest of Mihara Station, I found an area called “Nishinomiya”!
The Nishitsu reporter in me got excited, so I immediately ran over to check it out!
As soon as I arrived, the bus stop was already named “Nishinomiya (NISHINOMIYA)”✨
Officially, it seems to be an area of Mihara City called “Nishimiya”.
My excitement was through the roof!!↗↗
While walking around town, I also found the “Nishimiya Community Center”!!
Even Duskin is Nishinomiya… At this point, it feels like I’m actually in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
This is what the streets of Nishimiya in Hiroshima Prefecture look like. It’s a beautiful area that stretches along a charming old road✨
There was also the tourist spot “Mihara Hachimangu Shrine”! The decorations on the stairs were colorful and cute!!
Whoa! From a distance, I spotted a sign for a suspicious-looking tunnel.
Even the tunnel is “Nishimiya”!!! I was deeply moved✨
Then at an intersection, I casually looked up at the traffic light and… Kabutoyama!?
Among all the “Nishinomiya Points” discovered across Japan so far, could this be the most Nishinomiya-like town of them all?
