Have you heard of Peasy, the budget parking app?
In short, it’s an app that lets you reserve parking from your smartphone.
The closest parking space is the Peasy one↓

That’s right!
Peasy parking spaces are actually rented within regular coin-operated parking lots and similar facilities.

Features of Peasy
This Peasy service is operated by NTT Docomo.
But maybe because they don’t promote it much, Peasy is still barely known.
Here are five key features of the service.
- Completely free
- You can check parking availability on the app by map or place name
- You can hold an available parking space for 30 minutes with one click
- It’s much cheaper than the going rate for nearby coin parking lots
- Payment is by credit card, so it’s easy
I like that
parking fees are really cheap and that it’s cashless.
Why cashless parking is easier
If you’re the type who thinks, “Oh! Parking is cashless too? Installing it right now,” feel free to skip this part.
If you think, “Cashless sounds kind of annoying,” please read on a little.
Paying for parking at a coin parking lot is super simple, right?
But in your head, there are actually quite a few steps involved.
For example, when paying with coins:
- Go to the payment machine
- Remember or check which parking number was yours
- Enter the parking number
- Press the payment button (some places don’t require this)
- Check the amount
- Take out your wallet (from your pocket or bag)
- Open the coin compartment of your wallet (zipper, etc.)
- Quickly look at your coins
- Decide which coins to use
- Take out the coins
- Insert the coins into the payment machine
- Take your change, if there is any
- Put the change back in your wallet, if there is any
- Close the coin compartment
- Put your wallet away (in your pocket or bag)
- Go from the payment machine back to your car
This is very detailed, but humans are amazing for doing all of this almost unconsciously.
Cashless means all of that “work” disappears.
By the way, I use the electronic money iD at convenience stores, and cashless payment really is convenient. It’s easy. I recommend it.
There are 6 Peasy parking lots in Nishinomiya City
There are six parking lots in Nishinomiya City where you can park using Peasy.
To be honest, there are still not many parking lots yet.
But not many people know about this yet, so if you’re using parking near these six locations, you can park cheaper than at nearby coin parking lots. And even when the parking lot is full, sometimes only the Peasy space is still available.
Plus, Peasy has quite a lot of locations in Osaka, so if you often go to Osaka, it’s worth having on your phone.
Kobe, however, only has eight locations despite being so large.
Within the Hanshin area, Nishinomiya has relatively many, and I think the number will gradually increase from here.

From 20:00 to 7:00, the 30-minute rate becomes a 60-minute rate, and the 15-minute rate becomes a 30-minute rate, so it’s basically half price until you reach the maximum fee.
Locations and Photos of Peasy Parking Lots in Nishinomiya City
I went and took photos of the Peasy parking lots in Nishinomiya City.
Use them as a reference to see what they’re like.
Honmachi (Hanshin Nishinomiya Station Area)
The parking lot is called “GS Park Nishinomiya Honmachi Parking.”
It’s located along the Old National Route. Recommended for people who have business around Hanshin Nishinomiya Station.

The space closest to the front is the Peasy parking space.
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 5-29 Honmachi, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
The parking lot’s own rate board↓

If you park here normally, it’s 200 yen for 30 minutes, but with Peasy it’s 160 yen. The maximum fee also drops from 1,100 yen to 800 yen!

The size is the same as the other spaces. The only hassle is that you have to move the sign in front (a stand sign?).

Across the street is a snack bar building.
Next door is the vacant lot for Hotel Livemax, scheduled to open in June 2020.

If you go this way, you’ll reach Fudabasuji Line and come out near the police box just before National Route 43.

If you go in the opposite direction, you’ll reach Shiyakusho-mae Line, and if you continue along Yokai-suji, you’ll come out behind the motorcycle shop Red Baron and by the Higashi River.
Tsuto Nishiguchi-cho (Imazu Area)
The parking lot is called “Tsuto Nishiguchi Dai 1.”
It’s located under the elevated Hanshin Railway tracks, roughly halfway between Imazu Station and Hanshin Nishinomiya Station. It’s near Saizeriya.

This one sits by itself in a monthly parking lot. The yellow sensor is the landmark.
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 159 Tsuto Nishiguchi-cho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

If you go this way, you’ll reach Fukushi Center-suji. Turn left and you’ll find Saizeriya; turn right and you’ll come out at the intersection in front of JR Nishinomiya Station.

In the opposite direction, there is Nishihama Park. If you go straight through the residential area, you’ll reach the Tsuto River and then the Imazu Station area.
Minami Koshien (Koshien Area)
The parking lot is called “GS Park Minami Koshien Parking.”
It’s located along Rinko Line.

You can’t enter directly from Rinko Line. Since it’s a one-way street, you need to enter from the back road.
Here it is on the map↓
