We received a tip that a kintsuba vending machine had been installed, so we headed straight to “谷矢製餡(たにやせいあん)”, located south of Hanshin Nishinomiya Station. We decided to buy the full lineup and compare the flavors.

There’s now a vending machine in front of the shop!✨
“It was just installed the other day,” the friendly manager told us.

There are currently four products available
① Tsubu kintsuba, 6 pieces (750 yen)
② Tsubu kintsuba, 3 pieces (400 yen)
③ Matcha kintsuba, 3 pieces (400 yen)
④ Sweet potato kintsuba, 3 pieces (400 yen)
*The empty spaces will reportedly be filled with new products in the future! Can’t wait!!

It’s glowing brilliantly!
Here’s the location↓
The address is 8-1 Honmachi, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

After hesitating for about two seconds over which flavor to buy, I decided to go all in.

Here’s what the colors look like!
That moist, delicate outer layer… irresistible✨

The cross section is a stunning view.

This is the “kintsuba”. Lightly sweet, with the aroma of azuki beans spreading throughout your mouth, it has a somewhat nostalgic feel. This is their undisputed signature product: kintsuba!

This is the “sweet potato kintsuba”. Rather than sugary sweetness, the natural sweetness of the sweet potato stands out. The combination of sweet potato and smooth bean paste is excellent!

Last up is the “matcha kintsuba”. The aroma and flavor of matcha spread richly throughout your mouth.
It’s definitely a perfect match with hot tea! It’s just the right sweet for the season ahead as the weather gets colder🍵

In Closing
It seems the vending machine was installed not only as a COVID-19 precaution, but also with the thought of “letting customers buy whenever they like.” While preserving tradition, they also show care for customers’ health and time. It was a kintsuba vending machine filled with that kind of warm consideration!
