We Tried the Rare Taiwanese Fried Chicken at Kaba no Oshiri on Route 2♪【Nishikon Gourmet】

This gourmet report is about trying the new “Taiwanese fried chicken” menu at カバのおしり, a Taiwanese castella specialty shop that opened on October 4 last year!

I bought the “Taiwanese fried chicken” from カバのおしり, located across from Honwaka Shopping Street along National Route 2.

Taiwanese Fried Chicken, Taiwan Uma-Shio 780 yen (tax included)

This is the Taiwanese Fried Chicken, Taiwan Uma-Shio. They fry it after you order.

It’s so huge!! Doesn’t it look perfect for photos? Nishitsu-dori is in the upper right too♪

When I visited this time, it was the very last piece, and since it was smaller than the usual size, they let me buy it for 500 yen.

What?! This is considered small?!

The seasoning sprinkled on top is a Taiwanese spice called five-spice powder. It’s said to be a mix of five kinds of spices, including cloves, cinnamon, Sichuan pepper, fennel, and dried mandarin orange peel.

I looked it up a bit. In Taiwan, it’s called Da Ji Pai, and apparently it’s a classic Taiwanese street food♪

It looks like a big, flat rice cracker!! It really makes an impact!!

It has a spicy yet somehow sweet aroma, and that exotic flavor really whets your appetite. The crispy, crunchy coating goes perfectly with the tender, juicy chicken breast.

One piece looks seriously filling. It would be great to buy one and snack on it while walking around♪ Sharing it with family at home sounds good too!

They even had Taiwanese wine and other alcoholic drinks.

Various Taiwanese drinks like Taiwan Beer and Taiwanese cola are also available.

There is also an eat-in space.

They even have heating! Since it’s cold, that’s really nice!

The eat-in space has a warm wooden feel and a lovely atmosphere♪

There was also a map of Taiwan on the table. It’s the kind of shop where you can feel like you’re visiting Taiwan right here in Nishinomiya!

If you go this way, you’ll find JOY FIT24, One Karubi, and more.

If you go in the opposite direction, you’ll find Kagonoya, Torori Tenshi no Warabimochi (reported by はまぁむ and ささこ), and the road continues toward Amagasaki.
