It looks like MUJI at Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens will be holding an event called “Sake Talk,” where you can sample Hakushika sake while hearing about the history of sake in Nishinomiya and more.
From Sharing Nishinomiya Tourism Information at MUJI Nishinomiya Gardens | Nishinomiya Tourism Association
You can sample sake while hearing fun facts about Hakushika’s sake, the same Hakushika that held a brewery opening event the other day on 2/11.
It’ll be something like this↓
- The history of sake and its connection to Nishinomiya
- What’s the difference between ginjo and honjozo?
- How to choose sake cups and vessels
The tasting amount is two 60ml cups! Wonder what kind of sake they’ll be serving.
For reference (from the brewery opening)↓

↑That’s 60ml.
Event details↓
Date: February 25 (Sat)
Time: 18:30 to 19:30

Since it’s on a Saturday, it might be nice to buy something at MUJI (we reported on it here), enjoy some Hakushika sake, and then have dinner at Gardens afterward~. (The special offer has ended~)
Lastly
The other day, I went to Hakushika’s brewery opening and tried both honjozo and ginjo. They tasted completely different~. Ginjo was really easy to drink and went down smoothly. Honjozo had a deep richness and a stronger kick. Both were super tasty, but the difference was so big they almost felt like totally different drinks. This seminar will apparently help you understand that difference too. I’ve also heard that sake vessels can change the flavor, so personally, this sounds extremely interesting.
