The illegal parking poster featuring Kozo Kawato in front of Hotel Hewitt Koshien is looking seriously old.

It has faded, but it’s also badly cracked.

With a mesh pattern like a muskmelon, you can really feel how many years it’s been there.
I checked Google Street View to see roughly when this poster first appeared.
November 2018↓
Of course, it was there in 2018.
January 2017↓
Of course, it was there in 2017 too.
January 2015↓
In 2015, it looks slightly cleaner.
April 2012↓
It was there in 2012 as well.
Still unclear when it first went up
On Google Maps, we were able to confirm that the poster had been up since April 2012, meaning at least seven years.
If anyone knows when this poster was first put up, we’d love to hear from you!
Since around 2010? (Added 11/13)
We received a tip!
According to a post on Yahoo! Chiebukuro, around 2010 Kawato appeared in a Koshien commercial saying, “There’s no parking at Koshien Stadium! Please come by train!”
(This information was provided by Ojisan! Thank you!)
It’s likely the poster was put up around that time.
And so, another piece of trivia
was born into this world:
“A poster left up continuously will usually start cracking after about nine years.”
