There’s a teppan meat izakaya called “とーせんぼ” near Hankyu Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station.
It used to mainly serve okonomiyaki, but after its renovation, it has become a restaurant specializing in meat dishes.
There’s a large teppan grill installed at the counter, where you can enjoy various teppanyaki dishes, and they also apparently serve set meals and rice bowls during lunch.
Among them, the “Roast Beef Bowl” is said to be especially popular, so this time I visited during lunch and tried it.

Teppan Meat Izakaya “とーせんぼ” Dishes
This is the “Roast Beef Bowl.”
For the Roast Beef Bowl, you can choose the amount of meat from “Regular (60g),” “Double Meat (120g),” or “Triple Meat (180g).”
This time, I went with the “Triple Meat” version (1,380 yen).

By the way, you can get a large serving of rice for free (the photo shows a regular serving).
The roast beef here is sliced into thin strips and mixed with cucumber and onion.
Roast beef bowls really do vary completely from restaurant to restaurant.
The sauce has a nicely balanced tanginess and sweetness, with a good sesame flavor.
It was roast beef almost like “yukhoe” (by the way, it used to be called “Seared Yukhoe Bowl”).
Since it was the Triple Meat version, it was very filling, but perhaps thanks to the cucumber and onion, it still had a refreshing feel and made for a delicious rice bowl.
