It seems there was a raccoon on the street in Tsuto Okamachi(for those who can’t read it, we wrote an article about it) around 7 p.m. yesterday, March 10. Apparently it was near Daika Onsen.
Here it is↓

It’s coming toward the person taking the photo. Maybe it isn’t afraid of people.

Is it trying to rummage through the trash?

That tail definitely looks like a raccoon’s. We had just posted a raccoon quiz article yesterday. What perfect timing.
We don’t know if it was the same one, but sightings have continued in sequence: March 8 in Kamikoshien → March 9 in Tosakicho → March 10 in Imazu.
The person who took the photos said they had been joking with their family, “Raccoons have been showing up lately, so one will come here tomorrow,” and then it actually did.
Things like that really do happen, don’t they?
On the map, it’s around here↓
Photos of a raccoon spotted on February 4 entering a drainage ditch
By the way, a raccoon was also spotted near Koshienguchi 1-chome on February 4 this year.
(The following information was provided by Shigeki Yamada. Thank you!)

Apparently it was about 50 to 60 cm long and quite large.
It seems to have escaped into a drainage ditch. So they can get into places like that.
Please be careful around raccoons and other wild animals, as getting too close carelessly could result in being bitten or scratched.
