A town famous for octopus
I gave a talk in Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture!
Since I had some time before it started, I checked Google Maps to wander around town, and then…
Northwest of Mihara Station, I found an area called “Nishinomiya”!
My Nishitsu reporter instincts kicked in, so I ran over to check it out!
As soon as I arrived, the bus stop name was right there: “Nishinomiya (NISHINOMIYA)”✨
Officially, it seems to be an area of Mihara City called “Nishimiya”.
My excitement was through the roof!!↗↗
While walking around town, I also found the “Nishinomiya Community Center”!!
Even Duskin is Nishinomiya… At this point, it almost felt like I was in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
This is what the streets of Nishinomiya in Hiroshima Prefecture look like. It’s a beautiful area stretching along a good old historic road✨
There was also the sightseeing spot “Mihara Hachimangu Shrine”! The decorations on the stairs were colorful and cute!!
Whoa! From a distance, I spotted a sign for a mysterious-looking tunnel.
Even the tunnel is “Nishinomiya”!!! I was deeply moved✨
Then, at an intersection, I casually looked up at the traffic light and… Kabutoyama!?
Out of all the “Nishinomiya Points” discovered around Japan so far, could this be the most Nishinomiya-like town ever?
