Our first feature of Reiwa 2 is“Roast Beef Bowls”.
Some places specialize in roast beef bowls, while others offer them as one item on the menu.
You might think it’s a simple dish of just putting roast beef on top of rice, but there’s a lot to it: how the roast beef is cooked, how it’s sliced, whether the rice is plain white rice, multigrain rice, or garlic rice, and sauces ranging from sweet-and-savory soy-based ones to Chaliapin steak sauce-style versions, and more…
As we went around trying them, each shop had its own distinctive touches and ideas, and every bowl was full of personality.
There are 10 shops currently serving them.
Here we go~
