Welcome to “This Week in Nishinomiya,” where we look back at the store openings and closings in Nishinomiya covered by Nishitsu (Nishinomiya Tsushin) this week (3/21–3/27), along with other local topics that got people talking!
The “survey results on what kinds of restaurants people want” at the new commercial facility coming to Shukugawa are in this article.
Also, since this is the first “This Week in Nishinomiya” featured image, we made it super easy.

Things that changed on Nishitsu this week
There were 3 things this week.
Shacho and Mama from Nishinomiya Tsushin appeared on Sakura FM
On 3/26, Shacho and Mama appeared on Sakura FM personality Makiko Matsumoto’s program “Makiko no Shiranai Sekai”!
We talked about all kinds of things related to Nishinomiya Tsushin.
I listen to Sakura FM now and then, and I was surprised by how amazing Makiko Matsumoto’s talking, voice, and knowledge of Nishinomiya are!
To Makiko Matsumoto, who invited us to appear, and to all the listeners: thank you so much!
It turns out that Mihoko Yokoyama, the personality of the next program we appeared on, “AFTERNOON 787,” is a Nishitsu reader.
And not only that, she had even sent us a tip before! We’re so happy! Thank you, Mi-chan!!
We merged the Koroen area into the Hamawaki and Yomihama area
We merged Koroen into the Hamawaki and Yomihama area.
So, for Nishitsu, the area name is now “Koroen, Hamawaki, and Yomihama area.”
The reason is that there were just too few Koroen-related stories.
And yet, even after merging it, we still had no stories from that area this week.
But it’s fine. Sensei @ Nishitsu knows this area well, so surely, surely, the number of stories will grow!
We’ll also go ahead and announce, like a starting-pitcher preview, that more Koroen gourmet articles are coming.
We couldn’t change the icon for the “clap” feature at the end of articles
This one continues from last week.
This is what we added to the end of articles last week↓

This icon.
We said we’d make it bigger, but we’ve already left it alone for two whole weeks.
“Because, you know, there’s been all kinds of stuff and I’ve been bus—” Yes. That’s an excuse.
This week’s total number of claps was 74. That’s 180% compared with last week! Clap clap~~~~. (It increased by 80%! It’s 1.8 times as much!! They all mean the same thing)
To everyone who clapped: thank you!!!!!
Maybe we don’t even need to make the icon bigger anymore.
No, we’ll make it bigger next week.
This Week’s Tips
This week, we received 10 tips! Thank you!
Here are a few that we’ve already turned into articles!
- “Les Sens Baie” distributed disinfecting alcohol
- The French restaurant “Bistro Detowa” opened in Egamicho
- “SherryCurry” is coming next to Miyakko Ramen
- “ONIGIRI ICHIGO” is opening at Koshien Station
Thank you as always for sending us such wonderful tips! We’d love to laugh away the coronavirus with warm and fun local stories.
We’d be grateful if you continue sending us information!
