Welcome to this week’s “This Week in Nishinomiya,” where we look back on the Nishinomiya openings and closings covered by “Nishi2 (Nishinomiya Tsushin),” plus other topics that got people talking this week (7/11–7/17)!
This week, a park slide turned into a water slide after days of rain, and people are saying the rainy season might not end next week either, so we’ll be keeping an eye on the parks.

Something That Changed on Nishi2 This Week
There was one thing this week.
We added a category called “Nishi2 Outdoor”
Recently on Nishi2, we’ve been climbing Nishinomiya’s mountains and doing more outdoor-style activities, so we created a new category called “Nishi2 Outdoor.”
With themes like “There are surprisingly fun places nearby” and “You can actually have a pretty good time here,” Nishi2 members will try outdoor activities you can do in Nishinomiya and write articles about them, so stay tuned!
Tips That Almost Became Articles
This section is made based on information from readers who took photos and sent us tips ヽ(^o^)丿
We received this from an anonymous reader on May 25↓

A kind sign posted at Naruo Hachiman Shrine… We went to cover it, but Nishi2 couldn’t find it ^^;
“You often see signs at construction sites saying ‘No through passage.’
I’ve had the experience many times of being turned away, feeling disappointed, and taking a detour.
When I tried to go to Naruo Hachiman Shrine in Kaminaruocho, there was also a sign at the northwest entrance to the shrine grounds,
and at first glance I thought, ‘Oh, I guess I can’t go in from here,’ and gave up. But…
It was the kind of sign shown in the photo.”
It would be nice if Nishinomiya were full of kindness like this~ヽ(^。^)ノ
This arrived from an anonymous reader on May 29↓

“The road guidance next to the Chinese restaurant ‘桃の木’ in Higashi-Naruo is kind of strange.
I understand the words warning you about ‘right and left,’
but the arrows shown aren’t ‘right and left.’
They’re right 30 degrees and right minus 30 degrees.
Why isn’t there an arrow pointing left?
To begin with, I don’t understand what the arrows are supposed to mean.”
Exactly! Those arrows are hard to make sense of (^_^;)
