Have you heard of “Juku Ginza”?

The area around Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station is a major hub for exam-prep schools, with countless juku lined up one after another.

Among them, Shingakukan is!

So close that it’s within a 1-minute walk from the station! For parents sending their kids to juku, easy access like this is really appreciated, isn’t it?
So this time!

Nishi2’s Shacho-mi actually went inside Shingakukan to check it out〜🙌💡
A Trial “Math” Lesson: Taking on Entrance Exam Questions
The first thing we’ll show you is〜

A trial lesson! Shacho-mi is taking on elementary school questions for the first time!

Saito-sensei, one of Shingakukan’s top teachers, will be giving us a math lesson〜!

It properly says “Dear Nishi2”

Normally, where it says “Name,” it says “the name of you who’s doing your best.” That’s kind of nice〜

Before class begins, the teacher says, “We start with a greeting.” One of Shingakukan’s features is that they value manners and basic attitudes like this.

“Thank you for teaching us!”
The whole classroom suddenly feels like it switches into focus mode. It’s strange how just this can flip the study switch on.

Then, just as Shacho-mi panicked and said, “Ah! I forgot my writing tools!” the teacher handed over “a mysterious bag with ‘pencil case’ written on an envelope.” The tape on the part that tears easily somehow feels oddly timeworn

Inside the envelope were pencils and an eraser〜! Still, writing “pencil case” on an envelope feels so childlike and cute!

This time, the lesson is based on solving questions in the textbook.
So, here’s the first question. Let’s try it together.
Q. The numbers are arranged according to a rule. Write the number that fits in the □.
(1)1, 3, 5, 7, □, 11, 13・・・
a.8
b.9
c.10
d.0
- 80%(0票)
- 998.2%(110票)
- 100.9%(1票)
- 10.50.9%(1票)

Back in elementary school, Shacho-mi “gave up on math” at “division,” but she can do this one!
The answer is
9

“Yes! Correct!!”

Even though it was the first question, this is Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi’s Juku Ginza and a juku for junior high school entrance exams, so getting it right feels great!

For this question too, after staring at it really hard… “Ah! This ismultiplying the same number!”

When she writes the answer,

“Amazing! Correct!” says Saito-sensei, really lifting her spirits.

But then, the next question was a tough one.

This one. Can you solve it?What even is this pattern of increase?
- 160%(0票)
- 2197.9%(94票)
- 252.1%(2票)
- 300%(0票)

This takes some thought. The numbers are increasing in a strange way.

“30 seconds left!”
“What! There was a time limit? Maybe I should just write something random. No, I can’t!”
“When there are 5 seconds left, just write something down,” he advises. If you write something, you might still get points, after all

In desperation, she says “23!” No, that’s not it… Then she writes down “21”, a number that just somehow feels right.

The answer is〜

Twenty…(What’s with this pause, lol)

(Please! Let it be right)

one, correct〜〜. “You’re a promising hopeful,” the teacher says, praising her.
