If you go this way, you’ll find ramen shops such as Ramen Yumeyatai, Tanron, Ramen Tesshin, and Hiidashiya, and if you continue on, just before National Route 2, there is the ramen specialty shop Don.
If you go in the opposite direction, you’ll find Amagasaki Shinkin Bank, Gusto, and other places. Continuing straight ahead, there are also Nishinomiya Central Gymnasium, scheduled to be rebuilt in 2025, and Joshin, scheduled to reopen after renovation in December.
A Tasty, Affordable Ramen Shop
Judging from reviews and other comments, it seems to have been a popular ramen shop known for its delicious niboshi-based ramen, priced affordably at 600 yen.
It had apparently closed for an extended break, then made a comeback in June 2018, but it seems to have gone on hiatus at some point again.
According to information provided by Morikusa-san, fixtures and equipment from inside the shop were being carried out.
As of 7/13, the shutter was down and a “tenant wanted” notice had been posted.
Lastly
It seems that even popular ramen shops can end up closing for various reasons, such as staff shortages.
This time, なかた屋 had apparently been on a long hiatus, and since it had previously made a comeback,
for fans who were hoping, “It’ll probably come back again,” this closure must be especially hard.
The same goes for Toshokaku along Route 171, which closed this March, but personally, it’s also a shock when a place I had wanted to try at least once ends up closing.
Still, the main shop is probably this one in Aomori, so if you absolutely want to try it, you might decide to make your next trip to Aomori so you won’t have any regrets.
