The “Nishinomiya Sakagura Renaissance Food Fair” will be held at Nishinomiya Shrine for two days, October 5 (Sat) and 6 (Sun).
It’s a big event where you can drink sake🍶 from 8 Nishinomiya breweries, and there will be food stalls from 27shops, including izakaya Fujiya🍻 and Jugemu, known for Koshien Hero-age🍖.
In this article, we’ll give you a quick overview of what kind of event it is.
Last year’s event was canceled because of a typhoon, so many people were probably disappointed.

Admission is free, and it looks like the event will be held even if it rains🤣
The Main Venue Is Nishinomiya Shrine
The main venue for the Nishinomiya Sakagura Renaissance Food Fair is Nishinomiya Shrine⛩.
Sake, Food, Shopping, and More

Let’s take a look at what kinds of shops will be there.

Numbers 1 to 9 in blue are sake booths.
The booths in red are food booths. There will be plenty of food that sounds perfect with sake, like konnyaku, beef skewers, and fried foods. We also recommend Tsumiki’s dashimaki omelet, which we featured on Nishitsu!
There will also be curry, omu-soba, Sakura Ibuki ramen🍜, and more. They’ll have fried chicken and fries too, so kids should be happy as well👨👧👧
The navy blue booths are product sales booths, and the green booths are exhibition booths. It looks like you can also try painting traditional Japanese candles.
As expected from Nishinomiya, this is a sake event, but there are also lots of sweets🍡 like manju, baked donuts, dango, and dorayaki!
↑At this spot, you can compare sake from 8 Nishinomiya breweries🍶 It looks like there will also be sake from breweries in Kobe.
One cup is 60 ml and starts from 100 yen. If you drink 8 cups, that’s 480 ml, or about 2.6 go. (I can’t drink that much, so all of them would be impossible for me)
Events Inside the Shrine
There will also be various events inside Nishinomiya Shrine, the main venue.
On the 5th (Sat), starting at 13:00, more than 1,000 people will apparently raise a toast together in front of the worship hall.

There Are 4 Satellite Venues
There appear to be 4 satellite venues.

- Hakushika Sake Museum
- Nihonsakari Sakagura-dori Rengakan
- Ozeki Amakara no Sekijuan・Sakigake Bar

You can walk to the satellite venues, but there will also be a free loop bus running every 15 to 20 minutes.
The bus stops are said to be at “JR Nishinomiya Station (National Route 2 side),” “Hanshin Nishinomiya Station (Bus Stop No. 5),” and “Nishinomiya Shrine’s Akamon Gate.”

Food and Drinks, Sake Sales, Events, and More
Each satellite venue seems to offer food and drinks, including alcohol.
There will also be sake sales, tours, lottery drawings, dance performances, live music, and other events.

There’s Also an Event at the Chuo Shopping Street Near Hanshin Nishinomiya Station!
At the Ebisu Stage in front of Daiei, there will be stage performances and food stalls too.

On the 5th (Sat), they’ll be selling medicinal curry, freshly roasted coffee, and more, along with food stalls, small goods, accessories, and other items.
On the 6th (Sun), you’ll apparently be able to eat the nostalgic curry🍛 featuring tendon meat from the recently opened Diner103’s, which we featured on Nishitsu.

The 5th looks like it will have a lot of live music-style performances. The 6th seems more family-oriented, with school-related performances from places like Imazu High School, Hamawaki Junior High School, and Otemae University.
