Just over the Bantaki Tunnel from Nishinomiya City, there’s a Sri Lankan restaurant in Yamaguchi-cho called “リトルランカ.”
It’s a place where you can enjoy really, really delicious curry, but right now, as a coronavirus precaution, they’re only taking phone orders and operating by drive-thru.
We’re all familiar with drive-thrus at fast food restaurants, but what is a drive-thru at a local restaurant like??

So, we went and tried the “drive-thru” at リトルランカ.

How to Order at the “リトルランカ” Drive-Thru
The big sign that says Drive-Thru →→ is your landmark♪
Press the green button and you’ll be connected to the restaurant.
Place your order while holding down the middle button.
We ordered “shrimp curry and chicken roti”♪
Once the order was done, they said, “Please pull forward, we’ll bring you some tea.”
While we were waiting in the car,
they brought us warm chai tea.
It warms both body and soul.
The restaurant’s toy poodle mascot is soothing, too.
As we chatted over tea, the food arrived before we knew it.
We came home refreshed by the playful toy poodle running around innocently and energized by our conversation with the staff.
It’s right there once you cross the Bantaki Tunnel!!

“In a good way, this isn’t the curry I know. It’s so good.”
“It is curry. If anything, this is closer to real curry, haha.”
“It has a different kind of umami from Japanese curry. It’s a little sweet.”
“Ahh, it’s delicious. That coconut flavor, and the shrimp are so plump.”
