Scenes from Mondo Yakujin just after New Year’s Day began
From Yummy Yummy.

The atmosphere at Mondo Yakujin is really wonderful, isn’t it?

A zodiac painting that makes everyone feel at ease when they see it.
Next, from Manabu Taguchi.

Do you know about this at Mondo Yakujin?

It’s called Keiju-ishi, and it’s actually fossilized wood. It holds the power of 80 million years ago. Looks like you can receive some energy from it

Letting the incense smoke wash over your body. It’s said to purify the body, and if you waft it over parts that are unwell, they may heal better
Next, from a Kagayaki supporter.

There are lots of food stalls from Mondo Yakujin Station to Tokoji Temple, which makes it fun.

This is by the parking lot. It’s yakuyoke zenzai, sweet red bean soup for warding off misfortune.

There are also stalls once you enter the temple grounds.

This area filled with candles has such a distinctive atmosphere.

By the way, it seems the special prayer location at Mondo Yakujin has changed!

Apparently it has returned to the main hall, like it was before COVID. (Info from Kattan)

Scenes from Hirota Shrine just after New Year’s Day began
Also from Yummy Yummy.

This is our first nighttime photo.
Next, from Manabu Taguchi.

When you think of Hirota Shrine, you think of the Hanshin Tigers sake barrels.

The zodiac painting is something to look forward to every year. A white horse with wings is running and flying through the sky.
Next, from Kagayaki No. 509, a Nishitsu supporter.

At Hirota Shrine, you can pray not only in the center but also lined up widely to the left and right, so remember that it’s OK to spread out when lining up.

Hirota Shrine staff were offering a photo service.

Aren’t the horse ornaments super cute? I like the gourd with “fortune” written on it.

A Shiba Inu! Wait, what’s it doing?

Oh! A bow and arrow!

Shrines where you can try archery are probably pretty rare, aren’t they?

It snowed that day. This was January 2.
