“Shumai no ◯Yama” on Route 171 in Fundō-chō is temporarily closed.

Area Around “Shumai no ◯Yama”
Across the street, you’ll find a row of ramen shops: Ramen Tanron, Hidashiya, and Marutaka Chūka Soba.
Head this way and you’ll find Cafe Strawberry Fields, leading out to Yamate Kansen (Yamate Trunk Road). At the intersection, there’s Ramen Yume Yatai.
Go the other direction and you’ll find Toshiharu Coffee, Super Maruhachi, brown rice specialty shop Gengen, Udon-ya Wanhaku, Cantonese Restaurant Gaen, and more.
In Closing
If you look closely at the sign, it used to say “Shumai no” (shumai shop) ◯Yama, but at some point it changed to “Chūgoku Ryōri” (Chinese cuisine) ◯Yama 😃 I thought it might have changed with this renovation, but according to the shop’s Instagram, it had already become “Chinese Cuisine” as of August 2023. I never noticed! But since “shumai” is still written on the pillar, they presumably still have shumai on the menu. Looking forward to seeing how it changes after the renewal!
