Nishinomiya is known by just about everyone as a fiercely competitive ramen area, and even so, plenty of new shops opened in 2019.
So we put together a list of ramen shops in the city that opened last year and were featured on Nishi2.
I haven’t eaten at all of them myself, but since they’ve jumped into such a competitive ramen scene, every one of them looks delicious.
Use this as a reference for your first ramen of the New Year.

“オカモト醤油ヌードル”

This shop opened in February along the Nakatsuhama Line.
As the name suggests, you can enjoy soy sauce ramen based on chicken bone broth.

“ラー麺ずんどう屋”

This shop opened in March along Route 171.
You may recognize it from TV commercials.

“西北ラーメンひょんなことからはじめました”

This shop opened in March near Nishinomiya-kitaguchi Station.
It serves ramen with a seafood-based soup.

“麺や白ぼし”

This shop opened in March in front of Koshienguchi Station.
Its main dish is tonkotsu ramen, but it also offers abura soba and soupless tantanmen.

“虎と龍”

This shop opened in March on the first floor of Don Quijote along Route 2. It originally had a location in Nishinomiya-kitaguchi.
You can enjoy two types of ramen here: “Kurume”-style and “Hakata”-style.

“麺や五山甲子園”

This shop opened in August very close to LaLaport Koshien.
We stopped by during the pre-opening, and the tsukemen with TKG was delicious.

“えだ屋”

This shop opened in September near Hankyu Nishinomiya-kitaguchi Station.
It is a sister shop of the izakaya “えだ屋” in Koshien.

“らーめんStand R&R(アールアール) 3号店”

This shop opened in October near the Jogaboricho-kita intersection.
It serves “niboshi” dried sardine-based ramen and “black”-style ramen.

“ラーメン泰侖(タイロン)”

This new shop had just opened in December near Joshin along Route 171.
You can try an unusual tomato miso ramen here.

“麺屋 なる戸”

This shop opened in January near Hankyu Kotoen Station.
It serves seafood-based tsukemen and abura soba.

“越木岩”

This shop opened in November very close to Hankyu Kurakuen-guchi Station.
It’s an unusual place that serves “tsukemen” during the day and “yakiton” grilled pork at night.

“にしのみやラーメン野球部”

This shop opened in November near Imazu Station.
It is a sister shop of “にしのみやラーメン” in Koshienguchi and uses the same soup, but apparently the name came about because the staff are baseball fans.

“桜息吹”

“桜息吹” is a tonkotsu ramen shop that opened in January near Imazu Station.
