Things That Changed on Nishitsu This Week
This week, we made three improvements to the homepage.
We added colors to the categories.
The category labels here ↓

They used to all be yellow, but now they’re color-coded.
- Openings and closings are red
- Food is orange
- Events are light blue
- Topics are emerald green
And so on. A few other things have changed too.
The reason is simple: it’s more convenient when you can tell at a glance what category something belongs to.It’s kind of nice when you can instantly spot the category you want to read. And on the flip side, you can smoothly skip the categories you don’t read.
Depending on the background color, we’ve also changed some text to black where white would be hard to read.
We removed excerpts from homepage articles
We removed the opening text snippets that used to appear under article titles in the homepage article list.
The reason is that titles alone look cleaner and are easier to read. This is just my assumption, but I’m guessing not many people decide whether to read an article after checking the excerpt. Sorry for deciding that on my own.
You can now see article view counts on the homepage too
The third homepage change is that view counts are now visible there too.
It looks like this ↓

With this, you can tell at a glance which articles are getting attention.
That said, I’m also a little worried that articles that aren’t getting many views may end up getting even fewer because of it, so I’m still wondering what to do.Well, I’ll probably leave it as is.
Once again, Nishinomiya Tsushin is asking for your tips.
If you have information like “A new shop is opening!” or “This shop is closing,” we’d love to hear from you<m(__)m>
