“Obon de Gohan,” where you can enjoy well-balanced, homemade-style dishes in a cafe setting, has three locations in Kansai.
One of them is on the gourmet floor of Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens.
Eating out these days is getting more health-conscious, isn’t it?
I went to check out the restaurant.

Food at “Obon de Gohan Nishinomiya Gardens”

This time, I decided to order the “Special Set Meal.”
I was torn between that and the Gardens-exclusive set meal, but the word “Special” got me…
This is the “Special Set Meal” (1,200 yen).
It really does feel special~~
I also added the “Odashi Tororo” topping (100 yen).

The main dishes are “Fried Chicken with Aromatic Sauce” and “Grilled Coho Salmon with Soy Sauce Koji.”
To put it simply, the fried chicken is something like youlinji.
The savory sauce went perfectly with the fried chicken, and it was delicious.
The coho salmon wasn’t salted salmon; it was seasoned with soy sauce and shio koji, so it had a milder flavor than salted salmon.
The aroma of the koji brought out the flavor of the salmon, and this was also very tasty.

The dressing on the side salad was really good–

This is the “potato salad.”
It’s interesting how the taste can vary from restaurant to restaurant, even with similar recipes.
The potato salad here had a classic flavor and was reliably delicious.

The pickles were takana.

You can get free refills of rice and miso soup.

The tofu is topped with sesame sauce.
The sesame flavor goes well with the tofu.

This is the “Odashi Tororo” topping (100 yen).
Since rice refills are free, I poured this over my second helping of rice.
The dashi flavor came through nicely, and it was delicious.
Wow, I was completely full~~
Each dish is made with natural ingredients and feels healthy, but the portions are actually pretty generous. Plus, with free refills of rice and miso soup, this is a place where you can fill up in a healthy way.
Menu at “Obon de Gohan Nishinomiya Gardens”

Since it’s a set-meal restaurant, the menu is mainly set meals, but they also have rice bowls, salads, udon, and more.
Their desserts are also made with carefully selected natural ingredients.
