Welcome to “This Week in Nishinomiya,” where we look back on opening and closing news in Nishinomiya covered by Nishinomiya Tsushin (Nishi2) this week (5/23–5/29), along with other topics that got people talking!
(Due to various circumstances, we hadn’t written last week’s “This Week in Nishinomiya,” but it’s now up! Last week’s Nishinomiya is here)
This week, Life in Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi opened. It seems the pre-opening was on the 26th, and the official opening was on the 27th.

Something That Changed at Nishi2 This Week
There was one thing this week.
We Changed the Nishi2 Members’ Desks to Adjustable Standing Desks
We’re running all over Nishinomiya, and to push our tired bodies even harder, we’re making everyone stand while they work… just kidding. At Nishi2, aside from reporting, we do a lot of desk work, which can lead to a lack of exercise, so we switched to adjustable standing desks.

Here, the desk on the left is raised all the way up.

You can move it up and down with this button.

We attached a USB extension underneath the table.

The USB extension is one that came with a Logitech keyboard or mouse. It’s attached with double-sided tape. (The one we attached for Daa@Nishi2 came off (T_T))
This adjustable desk is sold without a tabletop, and at the time we bought it on Amazon for 28,400 yen. It feels like it’s gotten quite affordable! (→FlexiSpot Electric Standing Desk Legs)
By the way, the tabletop is from IKEA↓

We also bought this on Amazon for 5,999 yen. This one is 100 cm wide and 60 cm deep. (→IKEA LINNMON Tabletop White)

We attached it like this using the screws included with the desk.
With this, we think the Nishi2 members will be even healthier and able to write lively, fun articles.
We highly recommend standing desks to everyone too! (→FlexiSpot Electric Standing Desk Legs)

Shacho@Nishi2’s wiring is a total mess, so next week we’re hoping to clean this area up.
Please Send Us Your Tips
The state of emergency has been lifted, and Nishinomiya is coming back to life.
As people go out more, we think changes around town will start to appear. We’d really appreciate your tips and information!
