Welcome to “This Week in Nishinomiya,” where we look back on the Nishinomiya shop openings and closings, hot topics, and other stories covered this week (9/28–10/4) by Nishitsu (Nishinomiya Tsushin)!
This was originally supposed to go up around 8 p.m. on October 4, but I let myself get caught up in being busy and ended up posting it late. Sorry about that<m(__)m>

Weekend Nishinomiya Info
Here’s the weekend weather and event information for Nishinomiya.
This Weekend
Saturday the 5th was sunny. It was nice and cool in the evening, wasn’t it? (Since it’s already passed, this isn’t a forecast anymore.)
Sunday the 6th will be cloudy, then sunny, with a 10% chance of rain and a high of 27°C.
Apparently it’s going to start getting cooler from here on out. That’s what the weather forecast said. I really want to believe it.

Featured Events in Nishinomiya
Saturday the 5th
There were two featured events.
There was the Nishinomiya Sakagura Renaissance 2019 and Food Fair at Nishinomiya Shrine, which we covered on Nishitsu, and Autumn Starry Sky Guide at Gardens. This is also an after-the-fact report<m(__)m>
It was also the day of the rokyoku storytelling show at Hirota Shrine, which we wrote about as something that might be nice for spending time with your grandpa or grandma, though I’m guessing that may not apply to many Nishitsu readers.
Sunday the 6th
There are two featured events.
Likewise, the Nishinomiya Sakagura Renaissance and Food Fair at Nishinomiya Shrine is one to watch. If you want to drink sake or just go somewhere lively, definitely check it out.
This one is a bit local, but for those living in Nishinomiyahama, there’s the Nishinomiyahama Machijuu Museum. It’s not really a festival, but more of an event focused on getting to know Nishinomiyahama. From 11 a.m. to noon, there will be a live performance at the music plaza.

Things That Changed on Nishitsu This Week
From this week, we’ll be sharing anything that has changed within Nishitsu. The top-three ranking-style section we used to include in the weekly roundup will be left to the monthly Nishitsu Popular TOP 20 articles.
An Apology for the Delay in This Week in Nishinomiya
So, right off the bat:
We usually publish the “This Week in Nishinomiya” section every Saturday around 8 p.m., but this time it was delayed by more than 24 hours. Once again, I sincerely apologize. I’m sorry<m(__)m>
We Have More Nishitsu Members Now
You may have already noticed, but “Daa @ Nishitsu” joined Nishitsu at the end of June, followed by “Mama” and “Niko” in August and September. Unfortunately, Mii has more or less retired due to various circumstances, almost swapping places with Daa.
The new members were all born and raised in Nishinomiya. They’ll all be covering food as well. Going forward, we’ll be visiting all kinds of places in Nishinomiya, trying different things, and adding more fun and useful content.
We’re Now Appearing on SmartNews
Nishinomiya Tsushin is now appearing on SmartNews, the news app that one in ten people use! We’re being featured quite frequently in the Hyogo Prefecture edition, so access from Hyogo residents outside Nishinomiya has increased sharply. That said, we’ll continue focusing on information specific to Nishinomiya, so please don’t worry.
We May Be Appearing on Baycom Now and Then
We’ve started working with Baycom, the cable TV station. This time, for some reason, Daa @ Nishitsu will appear as the main reporter. We’ll write an article about it too. We’re really happy to collaborate with a TV station.
Thank You as Always for Sending Us Information
We received a lot of very substantial tips again this week!! Thanks to our readers, we’re able to go out and report. Your messages and everything are genuinely so warm. There are still places we haven’t been able to visit despite receiving information about them, but we’ll turn them into articles as soon as we’re ready!
As always, we’d appreciate your continued tips and information from all across this wide city of Nishinomiya<m(__)m>
